With a goal of 300 riders (60 representing Metro Charities) along with hundreds of crew and volunteers, Metro hopes to realize more than $60,000 in funds raised by this amazing physical event! The ride is November 14-15, 2008 and is a 165-mile bike ride from Miami to Key West. To donate to a rider, please visit the ride website: www.thesmartride.org and find out how to pledge. For more specific information, you can either consult the website, or contact Metro: patrickm@metrocharities.org if you want to become a rider for us, crew for us, donate to the ride or help in any other way!
One of the great things about this ride is that no program monies go to support the ride, and all donations to the riders go back directly to the agencies. AND, the monies received by the agencies go directly for client services, to expand services, fill gaps in service, support staff who provide services to clients. This is unique in fundraising and a great reason to support our efforts.Dear Friends of Metropolitan Charities,
We would like to personally thank you for supporting us in our efforts to make Metro Charities 15th Anniversary Celebration a great success that allows us to continue to enhance the lives of others. AIDS is oblivious to world events, to war and to the economy. The need for treatment and services keep growing, as does the need to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS. We appreciate you supporting our landmark anniversary, and the statement and impact we together, the supportive friends of Metro Charities, are making for this worthy cause.
Energetic people have blessed us with their willingness to share their time and talents to coordinate the many elements to make Metro Charities 15th Anniversary Celebration a tremendous success. This benefit was a culmination of hundreds of hours of volunteer time. Thank you to the many friends, Metro Charities staff and volunteers that made this celebration possible. We thank the many local businesses, event sponsors and individual donors who made our silent auction, raffle drawing and fundraising goals a great success. Last but not least, our sincere thanks to our entertainers that helped create an unforgettable evening.
The gifts of time, talent and kindness contributed to this great anniversary celebration are an inspiration to us all. We hope that you, our friends of Metro Charities, continue to engage and support our events in the future. With best wishes, I am sincere.
Sincerely Yours,
Lorraine Langlois
